Tuesday 12 April 2011

Hello. This is Susan's daughter, Helen.

My mum asked me to sign in to her blog to let her lovely friends know she won't be on for quite a while. Her eldest foster son had a very serious road accident on Friday evening and she has been with him in hospital since. He is still in a critical condition but is getting excellent care and we are hopeful that he is beginning the long road to recovery.

She asked me to pass on a special message to Irene. I think she said it was your birthday yesterday. She has made you a card and will post it to you, hopefully next week if she can come home for a little bit.

Thank you.

Ouch.

What a glorious day, the sun is shining so off l went on the school run, came home full of the joys of spring thinking - housework this morning then a bath and then craft time. The first job take flowers to bin, well that was it fell down a step flat down and smashed a very thick glass vase (one of hubbys golf trophies). It took ages to get up and rested up for an hour with ice then off to A&E. Fortunately nothing is broken just very badly sprained and as l can not put weight on it l am now on crutches. No housework today for me, as l am always on the go running children here there and everywhere my husband is going to have to take over.

The card - l made this a few days ago for my SIL and BIL Silver Wedding Anniversay next week. L am told my SIL wore a blue suit and my BIL can not remember the colour of her flowers (typical lol) and yellow roses are her favourite l have followed the colour theme through. I hope they like itx

The image a LOTV coloured with copics

Flowers WOC with added stickles

Pearls from an oddment bag coloured yellow to match.

At last the sun is starting to come out, when l saw the forecast early this morning forn sun and high temps l thought they were having a laugh as it was grey, damp and cold. Just dropped off a gift to a friend and did a diverted trip home to the Range and bought the Fizzy Moon stamps as l only had one and wanted the collection - like you do, well it would be a shame to miss out..... As it is a small bag think l got away with it (looking over shoulder to see if hubby is watching me) phew... Had a great afternoon at a class yesterday where we made a tealight holder, l quite enjoyed making it and may make some as gifts when l get the time.

Penny Black Saturday challenge wk 145 & Crafty Catz #76

What a lucky girl l am but diet has gone to put. We have only just finished off the christmas goodies - then it was my birthday - then mothers day came along with a tin of roses and box of thorntons then last night............a large bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne and a very large box of thorntons and £100 voucher for clarins spa a belated birthday gift from the agency l work for. A girl does not want to be ungrateful but just think of all the craft goodies l could have bought with that - instead will have to have a massage or something and dream. Weigh in ninght to night and l am just on the downward spiral at the moment.

I am off to a class this morning and will be attempting to make a tealight holder, l think it will be just a good time to catch up with my crafty buddy Julie x

Less is More Challenge wk9

Happy Monday everyone - well l was supposed to have a hectic day with a review meeting for the boys at my house today which would have meant cleaning, food then meeting that would have taken up nearly all day. Came back from school run and meeting canceled - sooooooo l can play yippee.

I have been thinking about the less is more - touch of red since saturday and was unsure of which stamp to use until l saw this stamp which was a freebie in craft stamper some time ago on my desk. I have so may stamps l have never used and it is my intention to use them all this year.

I stamped onto card and coloured with copic pen then stamped again and cut out and placed on top then l added glossy accents to the middle and added some beads to centre. A couple of years ago l bought lots of beads and never used them - like you do lol. You will see them quite a bit on my cards as l like the effect they give. I stamped the image twice on skrink plastic and coloured with prisma pencils (copic was too dark), shrunk . Matted onto red card and sentiment from stamping up stamped in red ink.

Just showed this to my hubby and he loves it - not often l get a comment like that from him.

Hope you all enjoy the day and l will be back later to catch up, thanks for dropping by x Susan x

LOTV wk 90 & AllsortsWk97

I must be on a roll - 2 entries from me today. I have had a lovely afternoon playing and have felt really happy - l think crafting must be one of the most satisfying hobbies and everyone should have a go at it.

A real good change in weather here to day too - this morning was very grey and damp and this afternoon is glorious with the sun shining and lots of good light.

I made a card earlier today involving this red paper and when l started colouring this image it was still lying around and l thought it was perfect to match the toadstool. The theme over at LOTV is spring and this word stamp has not been put away, l bought it at Harrogate and it is part of a NitWit set with lambs on. As l had some scraps left over l punched the flowers and added a gem to the centre, A very creative day for me lol.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges

Restfull Weekend (hoping)

Just a brief post from me today after catching up on blogland. After 3 hours l gave up and just printed on a piece of card and stuck it on - think l need some help.

Great news from my sister this morning her cancer has not spread anywhere else and l feel so relieved, l am going with her for her 2nd chemo session on the 13th. My cousin also has breast cancer and just had her 2nd session.
